Hello, my name is Mary Jo and I am a Summer Procrastinator

What’s my deal? I don’t know. I have managed to log onto Pinterest 3 times a day, make 9 palettes at COLOURlovers, doodle this handmade card (but have not written the message! hello? McFly?)  and pour a crisp cold glass of pinot grigio but have not PAINTED A FRIGGIN’ THING. Oh oils, I miss your scent, your buttery feel and your vibrant delicious colors!

I have had enough! I have published this post as a motivation to stop with the procrastination and just GET TO IT.

I promise to post the process of of setting up shop and will document the works in progress. That will make it a storytelling extravaganza (hold it long on the “a” then end sharp: extravagaaaaaanzA!)

“The space and quiet that idleness provides is a necessary condition for standing back from life and seeing it whole, for making unexpected connections and waiting for the wild summer lightning strikes of inspiration — it is, paradoxically, necessary to getting any work done.” –Tim Kreider, “The Busy Trap”, NYT, June 30, 2012
